Roland SR-JV Expansion Card Capacitor Replacement Service

Roland SR-JV Expansion Card Capacitor Explosion Risk

On 27th Jan 2017 Roland posted this notice about the capacitor on their SR-JV Expansion Cards:

Google Translation:
"For customers who love the Expansion Board SR-JV80 series. Thank you for using our product.
The Expansion Board SR-JV80 series has been in production for more than 20 years since the initial production. Electrolyte in use may rarely leak due to aged deterioration of the electrolytic capacitor .
If electrolyte leaks out there is a risk of smoke emission.
If you are still using the SR-JV80 series with sound module or synthesizer please stop using them immediately."

The original capacitor used on the SR-JV cards has degraded over time and can either leak, become less efficient, or explode. It is advised to get the capacitor replaced as soon as possible. The photo above shows the aftermath of a capacitor explosion.

This is a service where you send your SR-JV card(s) and I will replace the old Capacitor.
